Responsible Mining, Rebuilding Chile

Just a few hours after the earthquake and tsunami on February 27 in Chile, Barrick made its resources available to the community, providing immediate economic and human assistance.

Our help for the affected areas has been provided in three stages:

First
stage

• Airplanes to transport firefighters, government authorities and health professionals.

• Provision of rescue workers from our own operations and projects.

• Donations of mattresses, blankets, chemical showers, water, diapers and cleaning supplies.

Second stage

• Donation of 200 emergency housing units, 40 of which were built by volunteers from our company, United Nations Global Pact and Un Techo Para Chile

Third
stage
• Reconstruction of Schools
• Patrimonial Reconstruction
