Clarification: In the Spring 2010 issue, the opening paragraph of the article by Kevin Casas-Zamora refers to President José Figueres’ denunciation of heroin
smuggler Robert Vesco. President Figueres was speaking out against his party for accepting Vesco’s campaign contribution. We regret any confusion.
